he Hartwell House Inn has been welcoming guests to Ogunquit since it was built in the mid-twentieth century with six guest rooms. Surrounded by an expansive 1-1/2 acre lawn with lily pond and gardens, the Inn is a short walk to the picturesque harbor of Perkins Cove, the quaint village center and artists colony of Ogunquit, and the Marginal Way, a winding footpath that runs for 1-1/4 miles along the rocky edge of southern Maine's Atlantic coast. A beautiful 3-1/2 mile stretch of pristine white sandy beach is less than a mile from the Inn.
The scenic Marginal Way, a mile long paved footpath bordering Ogunquit’s rugged coastline, is a short walk from the Inn. Guests can park at the Inn and walk to the sweet village of Ogunquit or Perkins Cove for antiquing, whale watching, boating, fishing, boutiques and waterfront lobster dining. “Antique Alley”, Kittery and Freeport outlet shopping are an easy drive.
Our 17 air-conditioned guest rooms, suites and studios are furnished with Early American or English pine antiques, some with deck, kitchenette and/or separate sitting room… ideal for weekly vacation rentals. A bountiful gourmet breakfast is served daily, as are afternoon tea and sweets.
